Chief Executive Officer

Engr. Adebola RasheedShabi was born on the 26th of August, 1960 in Lagos Mainland. He had hisPrimary Education at African Salem Church Primary School, Ebute-Meta after which he attended Federal Government College, Kano. He went on to attend University of Timisoara and Institute of Polytechnics “TRAINVUIA” both in Romania where he obtained a Certificate in Basic Studies and M.Sc. Chemical Engineering respectively. In 2010, he got a Post-Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment from UNILAG Consult, LUTH and a Masters in Environmental Management in 2014 from University of Lagos. He is currently doing a PhD on “Pollution Load of Industries in Lagos State using Industrial Pollution Projection System (IPPS) Model” at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

After his Tertiary Education, he moved to the United States of America where he lived and worked for many years. Since 1999, he has successfully run RASHBIL Ventures and served as the Managing Director till 2003 when he became the Executive Secretary of Yaba Local Council Development Area. In 2005, he became the Chairman of Yaba LCDA serving as one of the pioneer Chairmen of the 37 newly created Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). During his tenure as Chairman, he undertook many community projects successfully despite the withdrawal of Federal allocation.

His many achievements during his tenure as chairman led to his 2009 appointment as the General Manager of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) where he served for 9 years. As the head of LASEPA, he put in place regulations for proper E-waste Management, ensured proper enforcement of same and the first summit on E-waste in Nigeria was facilitated by him in 2011. He started the regulation of Noise Pollution in Lagos State, put in place measures to reduce the State’s Carbon Footprint via emissions from manufacturing companies. As a result, over 300 manufacturers as well as local traders in the State switched from the use of diesel and charcoal to gas thereby reducing their carbon emissions.

He is a member of several professional bodies such as the Nigeria Environmental Society (NES), Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers (NSCHE). He is currently the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI) and Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA)

He is happily married with children.
