BOULOS DONATES TIPPER VAN TO LAWMA                                                                                      2012 By Press Unit

In recognition of the Lagos Waste Management Authority’s effectiveness in ensuring safe disposal of waste and sustenance of a clean Lagos, Boulos Nigeria Enterprises has donated a Piaggio tipper van to LAWMA.

Handing over the van to LAWMA’s Managing Director, Mr. Ola Oresanya, the General Manager of Boulos, Mr. Rabih Sawaya, said “our company has come to stay in Nigeria for over four decades, through thick and thin, we are not birds of passage like other companies “He said that the donation was part of its company’s social responsibility duties” adding “we donated a power bike to the Nigerian Police recently”.

The Boulos boss said that its company established in Nigeria in 1980, manufactures the “Keke NAPEP” brand, of motorcycles outboard marine engines and generators, among others, adding, “the Piaggio tipper used the same spare parts as Keke NAPEP and is well suited for the narrow and rugged roads which LAWMA may find challenging in reaching for its services”.  The company which established the first motorcycle assembly plant in Nigeria currently has an installed capacity of 150,000 units of motorcycles.
Thanking the Boulos General Manager for the donation, Mr. Oresanya said that the success of LAWMA derived from worthy partnerships with the government as demonstrated by Boulos.

He urged Lagosians to continue to patronize the Private Sector Participation (PSP) Operators instead of cart pushers who endanger the lives of residents, by dumping wastes in unauthorized places including drainages and canals and thereby inflicting floods, loss of lives and properties on the people.

Mr. Oresanya assured Lagosians that LAWMA’s road map includes, more modern landfills, recycling plants, Transfer Loading Stations, safe medical and waste to wealth systems, adding “our business is to be on our toes round-the-clock, while Lagosians sleep safely with their two eyes closed”.
