LAWMA COLLABORATES WITH AWAM FOR A CLEANER LAGOS

To tackle the problems of litters and indiscriminate dumping of waste on the highways and attain the State Government’s desire to bequeath an aesthetically healthy environment, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and Association of Waste Managers has embarked on massive restructuring of the sanitary landfill sites.
The Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejokun dropped this during the interactive section the Authority management had with the Private Sector Participant (PSP) at the Simpson Transfer Loading Station (TLS) on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Adejokun, the state government is not too happy with the present situation of the landfill sites which is caused by the excessive rainfall and this had been affecting the turn- around time for collection and disposal by waste managers.
