This scope is widened by the interconnectedness of waste management practices and global concern of climate change. climate change issues are being address by LAWMA with the adoption of enhanced waste management practices (which are globally acceptable) as evidence in the various innovative programmes/project ranging from:
• Construction of the first transfer loading station (TLS) in Africa and the use of transfer loading trailers.
• Management of standard landfill and construction of an integrated Solid Waste Management Facility (ISWMF).
• Use of standardized waste disposal vehicles (Compactors). |

In order to achieve this statutory (and social) mandate particularly as an acknowledged pioneer in waste management best practices through west Africa, it is imperative for LAWMA to encourage collaboration amongst the different regional stakeholders by initiating partnership with governments, interest group including business and industries (Private Sector) academia, research institutions, local and international non governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations and parliamentarians |
