LAWMA receives waste handlers overall from EKEDC

 

Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) recently played host to the management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) who donated overall jackets to the Authority as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at improving their business and social environment.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of LAWMA, Mr. Segun Adeniji eulogized the EKEDC management for deeming it fit to support efforts of LAWMA in ensuring cleanliness and wellbeing of the environment in the State.

“We are indeed very glad to receive you here today. On behalf of the entire management of LAWMA and the Lagos State Government, we want to sincerely appreciate you”, Mr. Adeniji said.

The Chief Human Resources of EKEDC, Mr. Aik Alenkhe, who led the EKEDC Team, in his remark, said the objective of the donation was to impact the society where they operate, adding that the collaboration with LAWMA will make the environment cleaner.

Quoting John Maxwell, “Success is when I add value to myself, significance is when I add value to other people”, Mr. Alenkhe said CSR is an important component of their business in the state, thus the need to impact positively on the environment.

He continued that the donation takes a cue from their mission statement, “To empower the quality of lives of our customers, employees, community and other stakeholders through reliable power and quality services”.

Alenkhe said that LAWMA is a most valuable stakeholder to their organization, adding that the partnership is a continuous one as there are a lot of other environmental initiatives they intend to involve the Authority.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of 500 overall jackets to the management of the Authority for use by waste handlers.
